【Encyclopedia】Speaking of shoe materials RB, PU, PVC, TPU, TPR, TR, EVA how to distinguish?

MD、EVA
MD: MODEL or PHYLON Fei Long's collective name; PHYLON: commonly known as Fei Long, is a material for shoe soles, general shoe-making midsole, with heated compressed EVA foam made of mixed substances (EVA secondary high-pressure molding products), characterized by light weight, elasticity and good shock resistance, hardness is controlled by the temperature of the foam.
EVA: Ethylene Vinyl Acetate - ethylene resin acetate. Lightweight and flexible chemical synthetic substances, outsole materials, more than sold in marriage with RB, the price depends on how much material is used. In addition, plus the combination of manual fees, glue fees, almost 20 large hair. It is also used in composite materials, called foam, the price can be ignored, but the factory accounting costs will certainly add.
So, MD soles must contain EVA, MD soles are also called PHYLON soles. For example, MD = EVA + RB or EVA + RB + TPR and some shoes are RB + PU, etc.
RB, TPU
RB: Rubber, i.e. rubber. RB soles have good abrasion resistance, stable shrinkage and good bending, but the material is heavy and generally used for outsoles.
TPU: mostly used in the sole, especially on running shoes, can also be used in the upper accessories, more expensive, TPU is divided into natural rubber and synthetic rubber, natural rubber mainly from the trilobal rubber tree, synthetic rubber is synthesized by artificial synthesis method, using different raw materials (monomer) to synthesize different kinds of rubber, butadiene rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber for the largest production of general synthetic rubber.
PU, PVC
PU: Polyurethane, a polymer polyurethane synthetic material, PU is leather, many kinds, help surface materials. PU is a large density durable material based on foam rubber, high density, hardness, wear resistance, good elasticity, but water absorption, easy to break, easy to yellowing. PU is commonly used in basketball, tennis shoes midsole or rear palm midsole sandwich, can also be used directly for casual shoes outsole.
PVC: Polyvinylchloride, is a synthetic material widely used in the world today. Most of them are cheaper, oil resistant, wear resistant, good insulation performance, but poor anti-slip performance, not cold resistant, not fold resistant, poor breathability.
TPU, TPR, TR
TPU: Thermoplastic Polyurethane, is a linear polymer material, the advantage of TPU is good elasticity, but the material is heavy, shock absorption ability is poor. Commonly used in jogging, jogging, casual shoes midsole.
TPR: Thermoplastic Rubber, thermoplastic elastomer, also known as thermoplastic rubber. tpr and rb difference, more fragrant, the price is more rb, about the same, the difference between the upper and lower 50 cents. Both the high strength and high resilience of rubber, but also injection molding processing, with environmental protection, non-toxic, a wide range of hardness, excellent coloring, soft to the touch, fatigue resistance, good temperature resistance, superior processing performance and other multiple characteristics. Both secondary injection molding and separate molding are possible, but the wear resistance is poor.
TR: TPE and rubber synthetic materials, with the appearance of many patterns, good feel, color, colorful, high gloss, high technical content, and can be 100% recycled, belong to environmentally friendly shoe sole materials.
Identification and characteristics of material soles
About the identification of PU, PVC, TPR, TR, RUBBER, etc.
PU is the lightest and most wear-resistant, PU material soles are very recognizable, very light in the hand, the holes on the back of the sole are round, PVC material soles are heavier in the hand than TPR ones, TPR material soles are more elastic than PVC ones, the soles fall down naturally, if they can bounce up, they are TPR, PVC material soles are cheaper than TPR ones, but the quality is not good, especially in winter, the soles are easily broken. One characteristic of PVC soles is that they have no injection holes, smell, and will grow white if left for a long time.
Weight: RUBBER (rubber) is the heaviest, PU, EVA is the lightest; material: PU expensive, EVA, TPR moderate, PVC is the cheapest; process: TPR is made out of a molding, and PVC to be processed, ABS is generally the material for high-heeled shoes, expensive and hard; application: PVC is used in the lining or non-weight bearing parts, or the manufacture of children's shoes; PU leather can be PU leather can be used for footwear fabrics or weight-bearing parts. In bags, PVC leather is used more often. This is because the items in the bag, unlike the feet in the shoes, do not emit heat; they do not have to bear the weight of the individual.
PU, PVC is relatively easy to distinguish the way, from the edges of the PU backing fabric is much thicker than PVC, there is also a difference in the feel, PU feels a little softer; PVC feels harder; you can also use fire to burn, the taste of PU is much lighter than the taste of PVC.
